Rooster’s Blues House Band Night Benefiting Memory Makers
Earlier this spring semester students in the Professional MBA program (PMBA) took on Dr. Clay Dibrell’s assignment in the MBA 662 class to come up with an innovative online presence for charities in order to help them fundraise.
Several student groups have worked admirably in this assignment, ready to break the record of $5,200 raised by a previous student group in that class.
Tonight, a MBA group is helping a local charity: the Memory Makers. MBA students Madison Hill, Brandon Armstrong and DeeAnn Williams and Allyson Heine are hosting an event at the Rooster’s Blues House tonight to benefit Memory Makers.
Those who are looking to have fun dancing to Rooster’s house band tonight can do so for a good cause. The night begins at 8 p.m. and goes on until 1 a.m. The cover charge is $10 online or $15 at the door. All proceeds go to Memory Makers.
There is another way to contribute to the good cause: buying the koozies online, just to support the Memory Makers in its mission to offer respite, socialization and counseling, education and information to those with early to middle stages of dementia and their caregivers.
The group issued this statement: “Memory Makers is an incredible non-profit organization that really makes a difference in our community. The Memory Makers owners, employees and volunteers make sacrifices in order to provide the Oxford Community and the state of Mississippi with a much-needed service.”
