Alice & Company Offers Easy Going Salon Experience for 25 Years Running

Nestled on University Avenue is Alice & Company, a salon calling Oxford home for the past 25 years. The salon is unlike any other in town due to it’s easy going, family oriented, Southern comfort feel.

“We like to remain traditional for our clients, but we also want to stay up to date. We go to shows every year to continue our education and become familiar with on going trends and products,” Marie Moore, Owner of Alice & Company.

Moore has worked at the salon for 15 years however two years ago was approached by Alice, the original owner to purchase the business. Moore is the current owner, making little changes to design the salon for a more younger clientele. She has changed the paint and has started offering specials for each month.

“We want to be able to provide a service for everyone in the Oxford. We have been considered one of the top salons in Oxford for years and we want to continue to provide great services, in a relaxed atmosphere while having a great working relationship with our clients. We want our clients to feel like our friends and family here at Alice and Company, because without them we could not be the successful salon that we are. We appreciate each and every one of them, new and old,” Moore said.

They are experiencing increased popularity among the Ole Miss students after the Spring Break and Valentine’s Day specials that were offered. Upcoming specials on Fraternity and Sorority functions will be featured as well.

Alice & Company offers manicures, pedicures, waxing and a full range of hair services including the new Halo Extensions that are hair damage free. They have a new product, the New York designed, Amika, that’s more affordable and a healthier product for hair. They also have Essie and OPI polishes for nails and Vinylux and Shellac for gel polishes.They also do makeup consulations and weddings. The salon services men, women and children with walk ins available.

Moore has fallen in love with Oxford over the past 15 years. After purchasing the business in June 2013, she has moved here full time. She has a ten year old at Oxford Intermediate School and twenty-three year old who just graduated from Ole Miss.

Alice still works at the salon 4 days a week and very much plays a big part of the salon.

“Alice is my mentor, I would not be the stylist that I am today without her guidance over the past 15 years. With the help of my husband Wes, daughter Jess and my co-workers we will continue to be a successful salon here at Alice & Company she has led me very far over the past 15 years,” Moore said.
