Feltenstein’s Uncommon Wisdom: The Wisdom of Anticipation
This moment that we are sharing together right now is, I promise you, as good as it’s going to get. So I think we should quit while we are ahead. It’s been great! Let’s leave well enough alone.
There is no better moment than this moment when we are anticipating the actual moment itself. All the moments that lead up to the actual moment are truly the best moments.
Those are the moments that are filled with good times. Those are the moments in which you are able to think that it’s going to be perfect when the moment actually happens. But the moment is reality and reality always kinda stinks!
We always feel better in anticipation. You don’t think about something and think it’s going to be crappy – no you say this is going to be the greatest weekend EVER doggone it, and then by Monday you are throwing up and you’re thinking, I always knew those guys were crazy!
I mean I’m sending you this newsletter because I’m really excited to share my thoughts with you. This is going to be terrific sharing and you’re reading this and I it’s going to be great. Isn’t that enough?
I believe that the way we should truly live is we should think about what we are going to do and then not do it.
Your boss comes in on Monday and goes, “hey…you are my go-to guy and I need a report by Friday.” You go, “I’ll get right on it chief.” Then you head back to your desk and put your feet up and spend the week thinking about it and then he comes in on Friday and goes, “where’s my report?” And you say, with a big grin on your face…”I didn’t do it.” He asks “why not?” Which you reply, “I didn’t want to disappoint you.”
Go be AMAZING!
