Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, February 18
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five disturbances, three alarms, three 911 hang up calls, two harassing phone calls, two malicious mischief, two suspicious activities, two civil matters, a welfare concern, a careless driving, an animal complaint, a shoplifting, an ambulance assist, an improper parking, and a grand larceny.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 43 traffic citations and made six arrests on the following charges: (2) public intoxication; (2) careless driving with DUI; a possession of drug paraphernalia; a warrant served with driving with suspended driver’s license, lack of a car tag and without car insurance.
University police responded to the following incidents: a grand larceny resulting in more than $1,000 value taken at Stewart Hall; a petit larceny at J.D. Williams Library; a service call for a Title IX complaint at Pittman Hall; a petit larceny at Stockard Hall; and a service call for an ambulance at J.D. Williams Library.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: a smoke detector activated by cooking at 801 S. 16th Street.
