New York Times Writes About Katy Perry’s Visit to Ole Miss

It’s hard to believe that first weekend of October really happened for us Ole Miss fans. We beat the hell out of Bama under Nick Saban. Our Grove appeared on national television. We tore down both goal posts. And Katy Perry turned up at Funky’s. And then we paid off those goal posts and then some. And now The New York Times revisited that wonderful day again with a profile on Katy Perry as a football fan.

Here an excerpt from the article:

“Of course, when the (Gameday) show ended, no one knew Perry would be rushing the field or later launching herself off the bar at a college joint in the Square called Funky’s.

‘I think she realized, ‘This is my college experience, packed into one day, and I’m going to make most of it,'” Cobb, (her manager) said of Perry, who did not attend college. ‘It was a highlight of my year – to be able to give back to Ole Miss. It was just as good for the university as it was for Katy Perry.”

Cobb later added that Katy Perry is “an Ole Miss fan for life,” and that there are plans for Katy Perry to return to Ole Miss for a football game. Hotty Toddy!
