Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, January 22

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four suspicious activities, two petit larcenies, two alarms, two disturbances, two civil matters, two simple assaults, a recovered property, an improper parking, a noise complaint, and a fire department assist.

Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 19 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges: (3) public intoxication, a shoplifting, a careless driving with DUI, a careless driving with a seatbelt violation, no driver’s license and a DUI, a driving with an expired tag, no car insurance and a suspended driver’s license.

University police responded to the following incidents: a warrant served at Brevard Hall, a warrant served at Minor Hall, an hit and run at Fraternity Alley, a trespassing at Campus Walk, a vehicle wreck at West Road, and an intoxicated person at Martin Hall.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a smoke detector malfunction upstairs at Swetland Cook law firm, a general fire alarm malfunction at Mary Buie Museum, a heat duct detector malfunction at Kappa Alpha Theta, a parking garage detector malfunction at the Baptist Memorial Hospital, and a smoke detector activated by an individual smoking at Phi Kappa Tau house.
