Ross Bjork, the University of Mississippi’s athletic director, has only been on the job for about ten months, but he’s already made quite a few fans himself.
At the Ole Miss Quarterback Club National Signing Day Party, many Rebel fans are eager to have a word with him, and everyone’s approach is different.
Some supporters approach him directly with a slap on the back or a firm handshake, while others wait patiently and offer a simple word of thanks for his reenergizing of the Ole Miss fan-base.
“It makes you proud we have the right people on the bus so to speak,” Bjork said of signing day. “We’ve got the assets to do it [winning], our university, our campus speaks to greatness and the coaches have turned that on.”
Bjork himself seems unwilling to take any of the credit for the day’s success.
“I’m not surprised” said Bjork. “Oxford is great place, and I believe in Coach Freeze, and Oxford just has so many great assets.”
He said that Ole Miss has established connections and relationships that have helped the recruiting process along the way, but Bjork also says, “We got lucky.”
