Although I haven’t been an Atlanta resident for 33 years, I have returned occasionally and enjoyed many of the tourist amenities. The ones below are among my favorites and possibly some you might want to consider while in town for the Peach Bowl.
Georgia_Aquarium_-_Ocean_Voyager_Tunnel_Jan_20061. The Georgia Aquarium. Where else can you actually snorkel or scuba dive with whale sharks? This is the nation’s largest aquarium with 10M gallons of water. Located within are 500 species, including Beluga whales. The aquarium is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. the day before the big game. This is one attraction I would gladly return to even if my fins were not up!
2. Atlanta Cyclorama. Experience the Battle of Atlanta via a sweeping panorama. Rhett forever lives as the history of the 1860’s is alive and well.

3. The College Football Hall of Fame. This is one of the newer additions to the city and one that should interest most Ole Miss fans as a few former Rebels are now honored there.
4. The Fernbank Museum of Natural History. “Journey into the Jurassic” if dinosaurs are among your hot buttons.
5. CNN Studio Store. A must see for Ole Miss journalism students and anyone interested in one of the world’s largest news companies.
6. Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum. A replica of the Oval Office awaits. The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is part of the Presidential Library system administered by the National Archives and Records Administration.
Little_five_points_atlanta7. Little Five Points. Highlighted by vintage boutique shopping, great live music and bar hopping! Sounds like the Square East.
