Northwest Communications Office Wins Several Regional Awards

Recently, the Northwest Mississippi Community College Communications Office was recognized at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 2 conference in Nashville.

District 2 is comprised of community colleges from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and The Bahamas.
Northwest received six Medallion Awards at the conference. Gold Medallions were awarded in the Brochure category for “Industry Driven,” Print Advertisement, Single category for “Top 10 Reasons to Choose Northwest” and for Northwest’s Mobile website. Silver Medallions were awarded in the Brochure Category for the eLearning Brochure and in Print Advertisement, Series for “Success is More Affordable than you Think.” Northwest received a Bronze Medallion for the President’s Report in the College Annual Report category.
Those who attended the conference were Sarah Sapp, director of Communications; Julie Bauer, assistant director of Communications; LaJuan Tallo, communications assistant and Lindsay Crawford, digital media specialist. The conference featured continuing education through speakers and workshops.
“I am so proud of our team for producing work being recognized on a regional level. We have shown we can compete on the state level, but now I know we can compete among some of the finest community college systems in the Southeastern U.S. It feels really good to know our creative is being recognized by industry professionals in other states, as well,” Sapp said.
