Vassallo: Where the Rebs Could See Postseason Play
With Ole Miss placed at No. 12 by the College Football Playoff committee, this changes everything in the bowl forecast for the Rebels.
There are still more games this weekend that could alter things somewhat, but probably not impacting the Rebels. It now appears we’ll be heading to either the Peach Bowl in Atlanta or the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
Here’s what it looks like presently:
Sugar Bowl – Alabama vs. FSU
Rose Bowl – TCU vs. Oregon
Fiesta Bowl – Arizona vs. Ohio State
Orange Bowl – Georgia Tech vs. Michigan State
Cotton Bowl – Baylor vs. either Ole Miss or Mississippi State
Peach Bowl – Wisconsin vs. either Ole Miss or Mississippi State
Georgia and Missouri appear headed to the Citrus and Outback Bowls with Auburn in the TaxSlayer (former Gator) in Jacksonville. The other six SEC teams that are bowl eligible would then complete the SEC tie-ins in Nashville, Memphis, Shreveport, Birmingham, Charlotte and Houston.
