Oxford Daily Crime Report: Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 10-11

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: nine alarms, six disturbances, six noise complaints, four suspicious activities, three animal complaints, two careless drivers, two welfare concerns, a motorist assist, a malicious mischief, an improper parking, a trespassing, a simple assault, a civil matter, an ambulance assist, harassing phone calls and a 911 hang up call.
Oxford police investigated 22 wrecks, issued 20 traffic citations, and made 13 arrests on the following charges: (2) possession of drug paraphernalia, (2) shoplifting, a domestic violence, a public intoxication, a simple assault, a disorderly conduct with resisting arrest, a speeding with running a red light without car insurance but with a DUI, a speeding with a suspended driver’s license, a driver with suspended driver’s license and no car insurance, and a public intoxication with possession of drug paraphernalia with a warrant served.
Oxford police discovered no code enforcement violation.
University police responded to the following incidents: a traffic detail at Ford Center, a motor vehicle accident with property damage at the Ford Center, a motor vehicle accident with property damage at Guyton lot, a reported larceny of bicycles at Lamar Hall, a petit larceny at Turner Center, a credit card fraud (first offense) at Turner Center, a service call for an ambulance at the Music Building, and a service call for a suspicious person at Jackson Ave.
Oxford fire dept. responded to the following calls: a fire started by construction workers burning debris – the fire dept. extinguished the fire at Filmore and South 14th interesection, a roll over wreck on Highway 6 East, a small gas spill which the fire dept. washed off at Kangaroo Express on Belk Boulevard, and a smoke detector malfunction at 112 Orrwood.
