As the band played on Ole Miss prepared to takes on the LSU Tigers in the unfriendly confines of Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Rebel fans rejoice! We’re in unchartered waters at least for this century. I have been struggling
with this LSU outcome all week and here is my final assessment.
I truly believe we will prevail. However, if we do not, the party is not over. Here’s why. I believe an “L” in Tiger Stadium would only motivate this team even greater to run the table.
I am TOTALLY convinced this Reb bunch will not lose at home this year! The stronghold we have over both Bama and State is such in that in Bama’s case, we must lose twice.
In the case of State, they have to win in Oxford. So if my previous assessment is accurate (and I believe it is), we will still win the West regardless of what happens Saturday night.
And in the case of MSU, this game makes no difference whatsoever except for the rankings the next few weeks.
Moving then forward to the SEC Championship game versus Georgia, should the Bulldogs prevail against Auburn and the field, the winner of the Ole Miss – Georgia game would be a certainty to enter the final four. All Bama could do at that point would reminisce about Dusty Springfield (ala “Wishin and Hopin”). State would become a leading candidate for
a top non final four bowl.
We’re in an enviable position due to the victory over Bama whom Auburn and State still have left to play in Tuscaloosa, mind you. Returning to LSU and wrapping up, all my best sources for predictions keep assuring me we will leave Tiger Stadium with at least 27 points.
If this proves correct (Kentucky got 3 there six days ago), our defense would have to surrender 28 points for us to lose. We all know that ain’t gonna happen. Therefore, let’s party hearty and dream tonight of an 8 pack to go. Then wait for the other Tigers and Victory Number Nine!
