Rebels Travel to Agggieland for a SEC Western Tilt

This weekend the third-ranked Ole Miss Rebels travel to College Station, Texas, to take on the 14th ranked Texas A&M Aggies. Kick off is set for 8 p.m. under the lights of Kyle Field and can be seen on ESPN.
Ole Miss enters Saturday’s game with the record of 5-0, after defeating No. 3 Alabama last weekend by the score of 23-17 inside the Vaught. The Rebels have not started a season this successfully since 1962 when they went 10-0.
During the Alabama game Bo Wallace threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
This season, the Rebels defense has played lights out only allowing their opponents to score 10.2 points per game, which leads the SEC and ranks second nationally. Through the first five games, the defense has only given up four touchdowns, (only one by the first-string defense) the fewest in the nation.
Ole Miss’ Landshark defense also leads the SEC with ten interceptions, forcing their opponents to throw at least two a game.
 

Texas A&M welcomes Ole Miss in with a mark of 5-1 on the season. The Aggies were unable to get out of Starkville, Miss., with a win as the Bulldogs defeated A&M by the score of 48-31.
Mississippi State’s defense forced A&M quarterback Kenny Hill to toss three interceptions in the game. Still, Hill leads the conference in total offense with 380.2 yards per game, passing yards with 351.7 and passing touchdowns at 21.
Before the Aggies lost to State, they started the season strong, defeating South Carolina and Arkansas. Coach Kevin Sumlin’s team, once again this season, has one of the nations top offenses, ranking third nationally in scoring at 47.8 points per game and third in total offense with 583.2 yards per game.
Since the Aggies joined the league in 2012, the games have been very close between the Aggies and Rebels with A&M winning both by a three-point margin. Ole Miss has never beaten Texas A&M in the six times the two teams have met on the gridiron. Saturday night will be the first time since 1975 for the Rebels to go back to College Station.
