Ole Miss Volleyball to Host Missouri
The match will mark the Rebels’ second one on the SEC Network, which also broadcasted their match at South Carolina last Friday.
The Rebels come into the Missouri match at 14-2 overall and 0-2 in the SEC after dropping a tight 3-2 match at South Carolina last Friday and then falling to No. 10 Florida 3-0 on Sunday.
NOTING THE REBELS…
• The Rebels rank third in the SEC in hitting percentage (.273), third in opponent hitting percentage (.168), second in assists (12.62 a/s) and fourth in kills (14.52 k/s).
• Junior Nakeyta Clair currently ranks third in the SEC in hitting percentage at .420 and seventh in kills per game at 3.29. Sophomore Aubrey Edie ranks third in assists per game at 11.02.
REBELS VS. MISSOURI…
• Ole Miss and Mizzou’s series dates back to 1980 and the Tigers hold a 7-4 lead in the all-time series. However, the Tigers have never won in Oxford with Ole Miss winning in 2007 and 2012. The Tigers won the most recent meeting, a 3-0 sweep at the Hearnes Center last season.
QUOTING HEAD COACH STEVEN McROBERTS…
“In the SEC, you have to have a short memory. Missouri is coming in 2-0 in the conference, so it’s going to be a tough match. Hopefully we learned a lot from this past weekend. We’re going to challenge our team to come out and use the frustration from this past weekend to have a good week of practice.”
