NASCAR’s Stenhouse Visits Ole Miss
NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will visit the Ole Miss campus on behalf of Talladega Superspeedway on Tuesday and speak to various student groups.
He will also attend the Rebel football team’s afternoon practice at approximately 4 p.m. There will be a media opportunity with Stenhouse at the Manning Center following the portion of practice open to media. If you do not regularly attend practice and plan to be at the media opp, please reply to this email and let us know. Below are brief bios for Stenhouse and TSS. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (26 years old):
– Driver of the No. 17 Roush-Fenway Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
– Born in Olive Branch, Miss.
– Lifelong fan of the Ole Miss Rebels
– 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year
– In three starts at Talladega Superspeedway, has results of third, 10th and 13th.
– 2011/2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion
– Five Top-10 finishes in 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
– Before he made his way to NASCAR, had much success in his native Mississippi winning in Winged Sprint cars.
Talladega Superspeedway:
– NASCAR’s biggest and baddest track – mammoth 2.66-mile venue – with speeds of 200 mph
– NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track – 88 lead changes (in a 188-lap race) is a record in NASCAR
– Cars can race three-and four-wide entire event.
