Rebels’ Coach Yo on first day of 50th year for women’s hoops

OXFORD, Miss. — In the first half century of basketball for the women, Ole Miss coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin reflecting on that history Tuesday. That was the first day of practices with the new rules giving coaches four hours a day working with the team getting ready for the season.

“I know nothing about this group,” she said with a laugh. “They’re very competitive and like to have fun. They have big goals.”

No, she knows some things, but hoping to figure out at least a basic rotation before they leave for Paris to play USC in the Aflac Oui-Play on Nov. 4.
