Finals Fashion: Dress Well, Test Well

Finals are incredibly stressful, taking up to two weeks or more of studying, test taking or both. It’s not not exactly the time for fashion, but I wondered how to use clothing as a way to enhance my test-taking skills.
There are different types of clothing to wear for your finals and study time: athleisure, full sweatsuits, jeans with a comfy top, and business casual.
If you’re like me, you probably love the athleisure route for your finals season wardrobe. Personally, I can’t get any work done without my outfit being a little bit put together. So, I often settle for athleisure that I can make look cute while still being comfortable.
Unfortunately, the more tired I am, the more I want to wear a full sweatsuit. While they’re extremely comfortable, I struggle to see how people can be so productive in this type of outfit. I nearly fall asleep every time I wear a sweatsuit while studying. But after a long week of finals, I usually treat myself by wearing the most comfortable pair of sweats for my last final.
If I’m really nervous for my test, I need to feel like the most confident and capable person. So, every once in a while, I will wear my most comfortable jeans with a loose top or sweatshirt to ease my doubts. Especially around final season, I get very doubtful about my academic abilities. So if you’re like me, try to dress up just a little bit and see how it makes you feel.
Now on to wearing business casual for the final test. I’ve never done this and honestly don’t plan to. The time it takes to put on a business casual outfit and do hair and makeup is too much for me. I definitely respect to those who can manage this, but I struggle to get up 30 minutes before my test, let alone an hour.
However, I hypothesize that the nicer you dress, the better you will do on your final test. That doesn’t mean you have to wear a dress or a suit, but even just a little mascara or new socks can make a difference.
I believe that if you feel good, you will test well. I love athleisure for my test taking but I always make sure to either do my hair, put on a little more jewelry or apply some makeup to make myself feel confident in every aspect.
