After Governor Tate Reeves announced that businesses and gyms can reopen, The South Campus Recreation Center announced its Fall 2020 operations plan.
“The health and safety of our patrons are at the forefront of our operations,” said Peter Tulchinsky, director of the South Campus Recreation. “While our programs and services have been revised due to COVID-19, there are still several recreational opportunities available through our department for the university community.”
Students must reserve an hour-long session through the OleMissCR app or through IMLeagues.com/OleMiss. Students are limited to one session per day.
The SCRC will be divided into zones with different types of equipment. Students must choose their preferred zone when registering. A list of each zone and the equipment provided can be found on their website.
Masks must be worn when entering and exiting the facility as well as when moving to and from exercise equipment. Locker rooms and showers will be closed and students will be expected to keep their personal belongings with them at all times.
Ole Miss junior, Ann Elizabeth Thompson, told HottyToddy.com about her personal experience following the new regulations at the South Campus Recreation Center.
“Considering the circumstances, my experience at the SCRC was very positive,” said Thompson. “I have an autoimmune disorder, so I really appreciate all the steps the South Campus Recreation Center is taking to keep everyone safe.”
