This year’s auction items include the popular “Oxford Town Progressive Dinner,” a dinner for six with each course provided at the home of a different Oxonian. Other unique items include a forage for chanterelle mushrooms and dinner at TriBecca Allie Cafe in Sardis; a bourbon tasting and digging for records at The End of All Music; and a two-night stay with fly-fishing lessons on Splinter Creek, located south of Oxford. Artwork from area artists and those with ties to the region include Dick Waterman, Glennray Tutor, Bill Dunlap, David Rae Morris, and Bruce Newman. A series of watercolors of Thacker authors, musicians and crew, painted in “real-time” during the live performances of the show by Gay Graeber-Stubbs, will be of special interest.
The show has also posted its broadcast schedule for December and January 2020, culled from recent live shows. Authors to be featured include Pulitzer Prize-winning southern sage, Rick Bragg, 2019 National Book Award winner Sarah M. Broom, bestselling British travel writer (turned Mississippian) Richard Grant, Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell and Thurber Prize-winning humorist Harrison Scott Key.
