Oxford Police Department issued 33 tickets, investigated nine wrecks and the following reports:

1 harassment
3 improper parking complaints

1 simple assault
4 suspicious activities
2 suspicious people
2 suspicious vehicles

OPD made the following arrests:
1 DUI, no insurance, suspended driver’s license
1 DUI, possession of schedule 2 drug, suspended driver’s license, no insurance and seat belt violation
1 DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving
1 minor in possession of alcohol
1 public drunk
1 public drunk and simple assault
1 public drunk and fake ID
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, expired tag, suspended driver’s license, no insurance and warrant served
1 possession of schedule 1 drug, no tail lights and no insurance
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated three wrecks and the following reports:

1 disturbance
1 harassment
1 information
1 reckless driving
3 transports
1 welfare concern
8 service process
Deputies made the following arrests:
1 writ to take into custody
1 robbery warrant
1 DUI-third warrant
University Police Department made no arrests and investigated the following reports:
2 wrecks
1 ambulance call
1 vandalism
1 fire alarm
1 fight
1 disturbing the peace
1 simple assault
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
8:26 a.m. – Oxford Parking Garage – drilling too close to a smoke detector caused it to activate
2:05 p.m. – 2 Andrews Circle – new gas fireplace insert was smelling like it was leaking gas – no leak
5:07 p.m. – Hwy 7 South / South Lamar – wreck with one injury – provided first aid and stood by for EMS
9:15 p.m. – Courtyard Marriott East Jackson – private party had a DJ with smoke machine which activated smoke detectors
10:08 p.m. – Residential Hall 3 room 233 – hair products activated the smoke detector
12:06 a.m. – The Links – someone threw a smoke detector in a dumpster and it was beeping – took old battery out
