OPD Makes Felony Arrests for Possession of Stolen Gun, Vehicle Burglary
The Oxford Police Department arrested a Lambert man recently for being in possession of a stolen gun.
According to reports, at 2:30 a.m. On Nov. 1, an OPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Highway 6.
The officer discovered a handgun in the vehicle that was reported stolen a few days prior from a vehicle in an Oxford apartment complex.
A passenger in the vehicle, Thailand Survillion, 18, of Lambert was arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and booked on a $2,500 bond.
On Sunday, Nov. 3, OPD arrested an Oxford teen for allegedly burglarizing a vehicle.
Officers responded to Access Road for a report of an unknown male who was reportedly inside someone’s vehicle. The reporting party said they saw another male running through the woods.
The officers found Tyson Wilborn, 17, of Oxford and another juvenile nearby. Wilborn was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was charged with vehicle burglary and given a $7,000 bond. Wilborn had been adjudicated as an adult from a previous offense and was charged as an adult.
The juvenile was referred to Youth Court and was released to a guardian.
