Our Team Our Town to Benefit Oxford Medical Ministries
The Young Professionals of Oxford will host the Eighth Our Team Our Town Ole Miss Football watch party at the Powerhouse on Saturday.
This year’s benefit will support Oxford Medical Ministries, a private, non-profit, community-based organization that provides compassionate, quality healthcare at no charge to low income, uninsured working adults of Lafayette and Yalobusha counties.
“This watch party is more than just an evening of fun and football,” said Allen Kurr, president of YPO. “It will provide support to an organization filling a critical need in our community.”
Kurr said YPO decided to help support OMM in its mission to bring quality healthcare to the LOU Community.
The benefit is family-friendly and open to the public. The Powerhouse doors will open at 5 p.m. with kickoff set for 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Children 10 and under are free.
Attendees 21 and older will have the option to purchase a $10 bottomless beer, wine and signature cocktail cup compliments of Wonderbird Spirits.
Other event features include a silent auction, door prizes, cash bar and big-screen view of the Ole Miss Rebels taking on the Auburn Tigers.
“The Oxford Medical Ministry Clinic is thrilled to have the Young Professionals Organization of Oxford supporting the mission of the clinic this year through the Our Team/Our Town fundraiser,” said Preston Lee, Oxford Medical Ministries Board Chairman. “The YPO does such a great job helping young business leaders grow their businesses through networking and community service.”
The OMMC works to provide healthcare and pharmacy needs to individuals who are gainfully employed but do not have access to medical care.
“Just as it is important to grow and develop young leaders in business through organizations like YPO, it is our mission to keep the working uninsured healthy and cared for medically,” Lee said. “The board of directors of the Oxford Medical Ministry Clinic are excited to have the support of the YPO through the Our Team/Our Town event.”
Catering will be provided by My Michelles, Green Roof Lounge, Marco’s Pizza, No Time 2 Cook, Taylor Grocery, Smoothie King, Oby’s, Chicken Salad Chick, Una Mas Tacos and Newks. Major watch party partnerships also include Hotty Toddy Sponsors My Michelle’s and the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council along with Touchdown Sponsors Next Gear Solutions, Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, Office Depot and Magnolia Rental.
