Although Oxford is considered a small town to some, that doesn’t stop this southern town from celebrating the spookiness of October. With local haunted house attractions, festivals and events, the community of Oxford is getting into the Halloween spirit.
One Ole Miss Halloween event includes the Terror in Turner on Oct. 30 which is free and open to the public. Different campus organizations that are involved with the Turner Center join together to ensure attendees have the best experience they can.
“It’s a great haunted house in the Turner Center that welcomes all ages of people from Oxford and anywhere else who wants to join the fun,” said campus recreation employee Sam Palode.
Other spooktacular events in Oxford include Halloween Spooktacular Safe Stop at the Lafayette Country Multipurpose Arena on Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. Also, children can eat for free on Oct. 31 at McAlister’s if they are dressed in a costume.
