Oxford Police Department issued four tickets, investigated six wrecks and the following reports:

1 obstructing traffic
1 other agency assist
1 simple assault
7 suspicious activities
2 suspicious people
3 welfare checks
Officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI, careless driving, suspended driver’s license, no insurance and possession of a schedule 2 drug
1 DUI, running a red light, careless driving and possession of a drug paraphernalia
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated four wrecks and the following reports:
1 simple assault
2 agency assists
1 alarm
4 animal complaints
3 disturbances
1 domestic violence
2 informational reports
1 noise complaint
2 scams
1 service call
1 suspicious person
1 traffic complaint
University Police Department investigated two wrecks and the following reports:
1 suspicious vehicle
2 ambulances needed
2 vehicle burglaries
1 vandalism
Officers made the following arrests:
1 possession of a controlled substance, possession of a fake ID and resisting arrest
8 for possession of a fake ID
2 possession of beer by persons under 21
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
2:34 p.m. – University Avenue and 5th Street – gas leak at a manhole – stood by for Center Point Energy
6:23 p.m. – Highway 7 near the red lights – report of a grass fire – nothing found upon arrival
9:18 p.m. – Sisk Ave area across the street from the high school – caller advised there was someone burning – the contractor has an authorized burn permit
