Ole Miss Men’s Basketball Announces Promotion Schedule
With the 2019-20 men’s basketball season just around the corner and single-game tickets for non-conference matchups on sale now, Ole Miss announced its promotional schedule for the 18-game home slate.
Several theme nights will take place throughout the season, highlighted by Morgan Freeman Night on Feb. 5 versus South Carolina. The first 1,000 fans will receive a bobblehead of Morgan Freeman, the Oscar Award-winning actor and one of Ole Miss Basketball’s biggest fans.
The Rebels hit the hardwood Nov. 4 for a Hurricane Dorian Relief Game against Mississippi College. Admission is free for the exhibition, but fans can donate money that will go to those affected by the devastating hurricane in The Bahamas.
As part of Military Appreciation Week, veterans will receive free admission into the season opener versus Arkansas State (Nov. 8). Fans that bring in a children’s book or teddy bear can watch the Rebels’ face Norfolk State for free as part of Books and Bears Night (Nov. 12). Rounding out the four-game homestand to begin the season, Ole Miss will host Seattle on Batman Night (Nov. 19).
For the first two games in December, Ole Miss will pay homage to a pair of all-time Rebel greats. The Dec. 3 contest versus Butler will honor the late Johnny Neumann, one of the most exciting players to ever don the Red and Blue. Four days later (Dec. 7), former Ole Miss head coach Rod Barnes returns to Oxford by bringing the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners to town. The first 500 fans in attendance will get “Rod’s Squad” t-shirts, a throwback to the student section’s name during his time on the Rebels’ sideline.
It’ll be a real nice surprise when the Griswold family returns to The Pavilion Dec. 14 as Ole Miss hosts Middle Tennessee for Christmas Vacation Night. The first 500 fans may be saying “you serious, Clark?” when they put on their Cousin Eddie Ole Miss hats. Closing out the decade, the Rebels will go back in time for Y2K Day by celebrating the 90s and offering $9 tickets for the Dec. 29 matchup against Tennessee Tech.
For the first SEC home game of the 2019-20 season (Jan. 11), fans will be able to meet the 2020 Ole Miss softball team as the basketball Rebels battle Arkansas. The Pavilion at Ole Miss will be a sea of red Jan. 18 with the Rebels facing LSU in a Red Out game. Another rendition of the BabyDega 500 will take place Jan. 28.
Following Morgan Freeman Night (Feb. 5), the 2020 Ole Miss baseball team will greet fans when the basketball Rebels host Florida (Feb. 8). The rivalry with MSU is renewed Feb. 12, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive “Beat MSU” buttons. Ole Miss will square off against Alabama in the Space Jam game Feb. 22.
The first 1,000 fans to show up and watch the Rebels take on Vanderbilt (Feb. 29) will get an Ole Miss replica basketball jersey. Ole Miss will recognize its lone senior, Breein Tyree, to close out the home slate March 4. Missouri comes to town for the Senior Night matchup.
Single-game tickets for non-conference matchups are on sale now, and limited season tickets remain for the 2019-20 campaign. Don’t miss your opportunity to secure your seat in The Pavilion at Ole Miss by visiting OleMissTix.com today.
