Brandon Theesfeld has been indicted for capital murder in the death of Ole Miss student Alexandria “Ally” Kostial, according to court records.
The Lafayette County grand jury met this week and concluded hearing cases on Thursday. According to the indictment, that held few details about the crime, Theesfeld is charged with killing Kostial after kidnapping her.
Theesfeld, 21, of Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested and charged with murdering Kostial, of St. Louis, Missouri, on July 23.
Kostial’s body was found near Sardis Lake in Harmontown, a town north of Oxford in Lafayette County, Saturday, July 21. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy making a routine patrol found her body.
Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy confirmed to Hottytoddy.com that she died of multiple gunshot wounds, though the full autopsy has not yet been released.
A motive for the murder has not yet been released by investigators. According to friends, the two had known each other for several years.
Earlier this month, Lafayette County Circuit Court Judge Andrew Howorth approved a request that a bond hearing for Theesfeld be postponed while he underwent a psychiatric evaluation. He remains in custody.
The grand jury also indicted Matthew Kinne, a former Oxford police officer accused of murdering his mistress, Dominique “Lucy” Clayton for capital murder.
If convicted both men could face the death penalty.
