Burglary Suspect in 2018 Break-In Caught in Chicago
A man wanted for breaking into Cannon Nissan in 2018 has been caught in Chicago and transported back to Oxford, according to the Oxford Police Department.
On Jan. 24, officers with OPD responded to Cannon Nissan for a report of a burglary that had occurred during the night.
Investigators learned that the suspect, Viente Ivy, 41 of Chicago, had broken into Nissan on three separate occasions and used the company’s credit card four separate times charging $10,273.
On Aug. 19, 2019, Ivy was arrested in Chicago where he was subsequently transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
He was charged with three counts of commercial burglary and four counts of credit card fraud. He was given a bond of $100,000 by a Justice Court judge.
Other recent felony arrests
On Aug. 12, 2019, officers with OPD took a report of grand larceny that occurred at Bad Eddy’s. The victim reported that the items missing were approximately $3,000 in value. During the course of the investigation, Christopher Christian, 32 of Oxford, was identified as the suspect. On Aug. 22, 2019, officers arrested Christian on the grand larceny warrant and transported him to the Lafayette County Detention Center. He was given a bond of $2,500 by a Justice Court judge.
On Aug. 23, 2019, officers with OPD took a report of an aggravated domestic assault where the victim was strangled with the suspect’s hands. Investigators arrested Tyler Lopez, 24 of Oxford, and charged him with aggravated domestic assault. He was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where was given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court judge.
