Oxford Police Department issued 48 tickets, investigated seven wrecks and the following reports:

Officers made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence-simple assault
1 public drunk
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest for accessory, investigated one wreck and the following reports:
1 agency assist
4 alarms
5 disturbances
1 domestic violence
1 fraud
1 follow-up
1 petty theft
2 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
1 suspicious vehicle
4 transports
2 welfare concerns
4 service process
Deputies made the following arrests:
1 public drunk
1 contempt of court
1 no driver’s license
1 writ to take into custody
1 disorderly conduct
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
University Police Department investigated three wrecks, made one arrest for driving while license suspended and improper equipment and investigated the following reports:
1 email to defraud
1 service call/informational report
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
3:43 p.m. – 2504 Capitol Street, Maarsen Land Management – opening a hot attic activated a smoke detector
3:43 p.m. – ATO house – cleaning product activated a smoke detector
4:55 p.m. – Hwy. 30 at Hwy 7 off-ramp – wreck with no injuries
5:32 p.m. – Hwy. 6 West at Jackson Ave. – wreck with a minor injury from the airbag deployment
7:30 p.m. – Hwy. 6 West at Chucky Mullins Dr. – wreck with injuries
11:34 p.m. – 611 commerce Parkway – smoke detector malfunction
2:44 a.m. – 800 Park Apts. Bldg. 2 – elevator equipment room smoke detector – very light smell of something electrical burning – left the issue with key holder
