The following reports were made Aug. 19, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department issued 44 tickets, investigated 10 wrecks and the following reports:

1 defrauding an innkeeper
3 disturbing the peace
1 improper parking
3 motorist assists
2 petty thefts
1 recovered property
1 simple assault
4 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
1 suspicious vehicle
2 utility calls
1 vehicle search
2 welfare checks
Officers made the following arrests:
2 DUIs
1 DUI and no headlight
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest for accessory, investigated one wreck and the following reports:
3 agency assists
1 alarm
1 animal complaint
2 civil matters
1 domestic violence
4 information
3 malicious mischief
1 noise complaint
3 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
4 transports
2 welfare concerns
University Police Department investigated one wreck and one report of computer hacking.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
7:54 a.m. – Highway 7 / University Avenue – wreck with injuries
10:12 a.m. – The Lyric – alarm company working on the alarm system
2:11 p.m. – Highway 314 around Cotton Creek – truck moving a mobile home and tore a power line down catching grass on fire
2:15 p.m. – St. Anthony Hall – alarm panel was showing the fire alarm was in “trouble”
