Oxford Police Department issued 108 tickets, investigated 18 wrecks and the following reports:

Officers made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence- simple assault
1 DUI
1 DUI and careless driving
1 DUI and careless driving and possession of a drug paraphernalia
1 DUI and speeding
1 DUI, no headlights and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 DUI, no driver’s license and no tag
1 DUI, careless driving, one headlight, expired tag
1 open container
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, K9 search, speeding and no driver’s license
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, K9 search and careless driving
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and seat belt violation
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license, no insurance and speeding
1 public drunkenness
1 shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 suspended driver’s license, switched tag and no insurance
1 suspended driver license, seat belt violation and no insurance
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated four wrecks and the following reports:

University Police Department investigated one wreck and the following reports:
3 suspicious people
1 wreck
1 larceny
1 disturbing the peace
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
8/16 – 3:42 p.m. – Oxford Middle School – call canceled
8/16 – 9:07 p.m. – 1644 Garfield Ave. – fire started on the stove and caught the kitchen on fire
8/16 – 9:44 p.m. – The Arbor #1203 – resident drilled a hole in wall for TV mount and hit the sprinkler system pipe causing a water leak
8/16 – 10:56 p.m. – Hwy. 6 east / CR 423 area – wreck with entrapment
8/17 – 7:34 a.m. – The Inn at Ole Miss – call was stuck elevator – nothing found – all elevators in working order
8/17 – 9:01 a.m. – The Inn at Ole Miss – 2nd elevator call – it was stuck but everyone was out before FD arrived
8/17 – 5:05 p.m. & 8:32 p.m. – AOPi house – fire alarm malfunction
8/17 – 6:14 p.m.- 1500 North Lamar – very small gas leak at a gas pump
8/17 – 11:13 – The Uncommon – people stuck on an elevator
8/18 – 6:07 p.m. – 503 Molly Barr Road – chest pain call – monitored until EMS arrived
