While the list of candidates has been whittled down after Tuesday’s Mississippi Primary Election, candidates headed for the November election have little time to slow down campaign efforts.

The Lafayette County Democratic Executive Committee and the Oxford-Lafayette NAACP will be hosting a Democratic candidate forum at 10 a.m. this coming Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Tallahatchie-Oxford Missionary Building.

All Democratic candidates for local offices and for statewide positions are invited to attend and tell local voters about their platform and why they are running.

People are encouraged to attend and ask the candidates questions.

“All Democrats are encouraged to attend and get to know our Democratic candidates,” said Cristen Hemmins, president of the LC Democratic Executive Committee. “Be an informed voter. Bring any questions you have, and bring a friend or two.”
