Oxford Police Department issued 28 tickets, investigated 11 wrecks and the following reports:

3 domestic disturbances
1 fire department

2 identity thefts
3 improper parking complaints
2 K9 searches
3 lost properties

7 motorist mischief complaints

OPD made the following arrests:
1 disturbing the peace
1 disturbing the peace and malicious mischief
1 disturbing the peace and providing false information
4 DUIs
1 DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, no driver’s license, no seat belt and warrant served
1 DUI, driving while license suspended, no insurance and speeding
2 possession of a schedule 1 drug
1 possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving
1 shoplifting
1 suspended driver’s license and no insurance
1 suspended driver’s license and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle’
1 warrant
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated three wrecks and the following reports:

3 juvenile complaints
1 noise complaint
2 reckless driving complaints

Deputies made the following arrests:
1 contempt warrant served
2 driving without a license
1 writ to take into custody
University Police Department conducted three vehicle stops and investigated the following reports:
1 suspicious vehicle
1 suspicious people
1 ambulance needed
1 harassing email
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following reports:
7/26 – 5:01 p.m. – 775 Shady Oaks Circle – cooking activated a smoke detector
7/26 – 7:54 p.m – 108 Laurel Cove – gas leak – Centerpoint had turned gas on to the residence earlier- gas leaking at the meter – Centerpoint had to come out and fix leaking meter
7/26 – 11:19 p.m – 402, 403 & 404 Van Buren – gas leak – Centerpoint had laid new gas lines earlier in this area – had to come back out and check for leaks
7/27 – 2:00 a.m – Home Depot – water flow alarm – employee had knocked off a sprinkler head with a forklift
7/27 – 7:22 a.m. – ATO house – smoke detector malfunction
7/27 – 8:45 a.m. – Solo Apartments – smoke detector malfunction
7/27 – 4:14 p,m. – Elmcroft Assistant Living – lift assist for a resident
7/27 – 6:57 p.m. – 2659 West Oxford Loop – van fire – fire was out upon arrival
7/27 – 7:36 p.m. – Solo Apartments – had to go back and reset the elevator from previous call
7/27 – 8:11 p.m. – Van Buren & North 11th street area – smell of gas again – had to call Centerpoint out again for possible gas leaks
