Ole Miss sophomore third baseman Tyler Keenan had a great night at the dish during the Rocket Mortgage College Home Run Derby tonight. Keenan blasted a total of 40 home runs on the night.

Keenan connected with 12 blasts in the first to secure him a spot in the second round.

The Rebels slugger was tied with Duke’s Michael Rothenberg after the first two rounds with 25 bombs. He advanced by winning the tiebreaker and slugging 13 to reach the magic number.

Northern Kentucky’s Griffin Doersching got into the finals with a total of 31 home runs. In the first round he had 16, and 15 in the second.

In the finals, Doersching sent 20 bombs into the outfield seats of TD Ameritrade Park.

Keenan had his best showing in the final round as he connected with a total 15 homers, yet eventually fell short of Doersching.
