The following reports were made June 26, 2019, by city and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise indicated.
Oxford Police Department issued 10 tickets, investigated nine wrecks and the following reports:
4 alarms
2 disturbing the peace complaints
1 domestic disturbance
2 improper parking complaints
1 lost property
1 malicious mischief
2 noise violations
1 phone harassment
1 scam
2 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
2 suspicious vehicles
3 trespassing complaints
2 welfare checks
OPD officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI and careless driving
1 false pretense
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and no insurance
2 public drunks
1 warrant served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made no arrests and investigated the following reports:
1 animal complaint
2 disturbances
1 harassment
1 information
9 service calls
1 suspicious activity
2 suspicious vehicles
2 transports
2 welfare concerns
University Police Department conducted 16 vehicle stops, made one arrest for no insurance, no driver’s license and speeding and investigated one report of a suspicious person.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
8:59 a.m. – Winchester – call canceled
1:45 p.m. – NMRC – medical call for an employee – monitored patient until EMS arrived
4:26 p.m. – 1710 University Ave area – wreck with injuries
20:07 – 611 Commerce Parkway #6 – smoke detector malfunction
