Oxford Police Department issued 30 tickets, investigated five wrecks and the following reports:

Officers made the following arrests:
2 domestic violence with simple assaults
1 DUI
1 DUI, no tag, no insurance, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle
1 DUI, careless driving, suspended driver’s license, no insurance and following too close
1 DUI and speeding
1 DUI-third, speeding, suspended driver’s license and no insurance
1 no driver’s license, no insurance and one headlight
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and seat belt violation
1 public drunk
1 shoplifting and trespassing
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated six wrecks and the following reports:

University Police Department conducted 12 traffic stops, issued five tickets and investigated the following reports:

Oxford Fire Department firefighters responded to the following calls:
6/14 – 9:06 a.m. – Heritage Park Apartments No. 141 – medical call – monitored vitals until EMS arrived
6/14 – 12:31 p.m. – Captain D’s – vent-a-hood alarm malfunction
6/14 – 2:25 p.m. – New Lafayette Elementary School – worker passed out – he was awake and alert upon arrival – stood by for EMS
6/14 – 3:12 p.m. – Shoemaker Hall – someone stuck on an elevator – opened door
6/14 – 10:33 p.m. – 2609 Walnut Hills #4 – medical call – monitored patient until EMS arrived
6/15 – 6:59 a.m. – 636 Piedmont – medical call – EMS already on scene
6/15 – 10:04 a.m. – 1613 Garfield – call canceled
6/16 – 9:58 a.m. – Raters Bar and Grill – office smoke detector malfunction
6/16 – 12:38 p.m. – 1247 South Lamar area – tree broke a power pole off – provided extra traffic control for OPD until Oxford Elec. could do repairs
6/16 – 1:57 p.m. – The Chancellor House Hotel – sprinkler system malfunction
6/16 – 5:52 p.m. – Brighton Village 3001 Old Taylor Road #1002 – resident activated a smoke detector and couldn’t get the system to reset
6/16 – 8:07 p.m. – Taco Bell – an element on a warmer burned out causing the equipment to catch fire – FD extinguished the fire
6/16 – 9:44 p.m. – Courtyard Marriott 305 East Jackson Ave. – cleaning the grill in the kitchen activated a smoke detector
