As the end of the school year rolled around, many students were left to find jobs or internships in their respective fields. Two integrated marketing communications students chose to stay in Oxford and apply their skills at a local company that has national and international clients.

Will and Angel Morrow.

Morrow Creative is a design and creative content development firm located in Athens, Georgia, but husband and wife duo Will and Angel Morrow run part of the business from their home in Oxford.

Ole Miss students Jessica Clark and Katelyn McKinney will be working together over the summer to enhance the Morrow Creative experience for their clients. The company provides services like social media management, executive coaching and speech writing, corporate meeting and event production and management, and recruitment and retention strategies with tools like Vlogs, digital team-building, and email campaigns.

Angel, the director of business development at Morrow, said the company made the decision to expand its team because of recent demand.

“We knew that the best place to find driven students would be right here at home,” she said. “Both Will and I are graduates of the university and are grateful for this opportunity to shape the future of others from our alma mater. Will attended post-grad studies in the IMC and journalism program here as well, so we were also excited to find a connection to this department with these students.”

Jessica Clark.

Angel said she has high expectations that the internship program will yield growth and personality to the company’s social media presence, market research and use of data to adjust strategies for clients.

“Morrow Creative works with companies that serve our country and other regions across the globe, and we hope that this experience will change the game for our interns,” Angel said. “We look forward to the ideas they will bring forward because we know the best way to stay relevant is to engage with young professionals in our field and everywhere.”

Clark joins the company as a digital account and visual media project manager. She will work closely with Angel Morrow on digital account management, graphic design, and shaping the future of Morrow Creative. Clark is currently involved with the University of Mississippi Black Student Union’s Public Relations Committee and Omega Phi Alpha’s Fundraising and Social Media Committees.

“I hope to see the business grow beyond the limits that were once set for it,” Clark said. “I chose to work for Morrow Creative because I liked the energy that came from the interview. Angel and Will are really great people and they seem like they have a lot to teach. I thought it was a great starting place for my career.”

Katelyn McKinney.

McKinney joins the company as an intern in the Digital Account & New Media department. She will work closely with Will, the vice president of operations, on new media and other IMC projects.

She said the internship is ideal for her because she is looking to grow her social media and design skills.

“I hope I am able to contribute my time and talents to making the business unique and stronger. I chose Morrow Creative because of how genuine and nice the people are. I haven’t felt like I am “working” yet because of how much fun I am having,” McKinney said.
