As the end of the school year rolled around, many students were left to find jobs or internships in their respective fields. Two integrated marketing communications students chose to stay in Oxford and apply their skills at a local company that has national and international clients.
Morrow Creative is a design and creative content development firm located in Athens, Georgia, but husband and wife duo Will and Angel Morrow run part of the business from their home in Oxford.
Angel, the director of business development at Morrow, said the company made the decision to expand its team because of recent demand.
“We knew that the best place to find driven students would be right here at home,” she said. “Both Will and I are graduates of the university and are grateful for this opportunity to shape the future of others from our alma mater. Will attended post-grad studies in the IMC and journalism program here as well, so we were also excited to find a connection to this department with these students.”
Angel said she has high expectations that the internship program will yield growth and personality to the company’s social media presence, market research and use of data to adjust strategies for clients.
“Morrow Creative works with companies that serve our country and other regions across the globe, and we hope that this experience will change the game for our interns,” Angel said. “We look forward to the ideas they will bring forward because we know the best way to stay relevant is to engage with young professionals in our field and everywhere.”
McKinney joins the company as an intern in the Digital Account & New Media department. She will work closely with Will, the vice president of operations, on new media and other IMC projects.
