The No. 15 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team dropped a 6-5 heartbreaker to Arkansas State on Tuesday night.
Ole Miss (32-18) broke up the pitcher’s duel in the fourth inning as infielder Kevin Graham delivered a three-run shot to put the Rebels on the scoreboard. In the fifth, Ole Miss tacked on an additional run off a solo bomb from Tyler Keenan.
Junior Zack Phillips was dominant on the mound in 5.1 innings of work. The southpaw did not allow a run throughout five hits and five strikeouts.
The Rebels scored their last run of the night in the eighth inning when Graham came home on a fielding error.
Arkansas State’s offense got going in the bottom of the frame as they plated two runs off the bat of Justin Felix. In the ninth, the Red Wolves continued to scratch back scoring four runs to win the game.
Ole Miss returns to action on Thursday as they step back into conference play against the Tennessee Volunteers.
