Northwest’s Ben Van Cleve Tabbed MACJC Player of the Week

Future Ole Miss Rebel Ben Van Cleve helped his Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers defeat the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers in the playoffs to be named the Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges (MACJC) Player of the Week.
The Indianola native was a triple shy of the cycle in the game 3 9-1 victory. He went 8-for-9 in the series with three doubles, a home run, five RBIs and five runs scored to go along with a 1.556 slugging percentage. He was 3-for-3 on Sunday with a home run and three RBIs.
Van Cleve leads the Rangers in home runs (12), doubles (12), RBIs (42) and total bases (103) and is second with a .367 batting average. He is riding an 11-game hit streak and reached base safely in 40 of 45 games this season.
Northwest is headed to its 27th NJCAA regional appearance against No. 1 LSU Eunice in Fulton on Wednesday at noon.
