Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated one wreck and the following reports:

3 follow-ups

Deputies made the following arrests:
1 writ to take custody
1 contempt of court
1 warrant for enticement of a child

University Police Department investigated one wreck and one report of a suspicious person.
Oxford Fire Department firefighters responded to the following calls on Monday and Tuesday:
5/13 – 07:34 a.m. – 620 North Lamar Blvd. – steam from an iron activated a smoke detector
5/13 – 10:56 a.m. – 21 Thacker Loop – someone fell from a roof – possible broken leg – provided 1st aid to abrasions and monitored until EMS arrived
5/13 – 11:45 a.m. – 1550 University Ave. The Village Walk Apts. – someone stuck on an elevator
5/13 – 5:45 p.m. – Wendy’s W. Jackson Ave. – stove fire – bad element
5/13 – 9:08 p.m. – CR 3015 – caller advised they smelled “something burning” in the area – found unauthorized burning on PR 3015
5/14 – 11:41 a.m. – Chi Omega House – workers activated a smoke detector
5/14 – 1:17 p.m. – Highway 334 – call was vehicle rollover with entrapment – no entrapment and rescue was canceled
