Beloved Oxford Nurse Practitioner Dies at 45
Amy Elizabeth Dempsey Tidwell, 45, an acute care nurse practitioner at Urgent Care Clinic of Oxford for the last eight years, died Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Born in Metairie, Lousiana, she is “known for her larger than life personality and her smile that brightened every room she entered. Her laugh was contagious and she put her heart and soul into everything she did. Celebrating her life seems only natural to all who knew and loved her,” states her obituary.
She also spent time working with various volunteer organizations including Yellow Leaf Baptist Church where she was an active member.
Tidwell leaves behind her husband, Will Tidwell of Oxford; two daughters, Sarah Beth Tidwell of Oxford and Alex Tidwell of Boston; one son, Ethan Tidwell of Oxford; her mother, Susan Dempsey of Oxford; one sister, Lawrie Williams of New Orleans; one brother, Casey Dempsey of Atlanta, GA; and a grandson, Tyler Tidwell of Oxford, to whom she was “Nims.”
Bro. Robert Allen and Bro. David Ard will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Donations and memorials in honor of Tidwell may be made to the Yellow Leaf Building Fund (50 CR 435, Oxford, MS) or the First Baptist Missions Fund (800 Van Buren Ave., Oxford, MS).
Online condolences may be left on the Tribute Wall at www.colemanfuneralhome.com.
