The No. 18 Ole Miss baseball team fell at home 10-6 to the North Alabama Lions on Tuesday afternoon in the annual school day game.

Ole Miss (20-10) fell behind the Lions early in the second inning with two runs in the frame. The Rebels answered with a couple of runs of their own in the third as Grae Kessinger crossed the plate on a base knock by Thomas Dillard. Dillard scored on a double off the bat of Cole Zabowski.

North Alabama retook the lead in the fourth inning with three runs in the frame. The Lions manufactured an extra-base hit in the form of a double.

The Rebels starter Max Cioffi allowed five runs on 6 hits to UNA in 3.2 innings of work. He struck out four batters in his outing. Cioffi picked up the loss and moved to 1-1 on the season.

Head coach Mike Bianco then called on the arm of Connor Green out of the pen.

The Rebels scored two more runs in the game in the fourth inning as Jacob Adams singled to center to open the inning. He would then come home on a base hit by Tyler Kennan and Kessinger scored on a groundout by Dillard.

UNA tacked on five more runs throughout the rest of the game with two in the sixth and three in the eighth. The Lions faced a total of seven hurlers in the game.

In the bottom of the ninth, Ole Miss tried to mount a comeback with a two-run blast by freshman Kevin Graham with a home run that scored Cooper Johnson.

Kennan finished the afternoon going 2-for-4 at the dish with one RBI, and Dillard finished with two RBIs on the day.

The Rebels return to Swayze on Friday as they play host to the Florida Gators in a three-game SEC tilt. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
