The Ole Miss Rebels baseball team defeated Memphis 9-6 in the Bluff City on Tuesday night.

Ole Miss’ (18-8) senior Chase Cockrell went 3-for-5 at the plate against the Tigers with two doubles and a single. He scored a run and drove in 2 RBIs.

Junior Thomas Dillard went 2-for-4 with two runs and 2 RBIs. Dillard put the Rebels on the board first with a single in right field. Ryan Olenek’s triple off the right-field wall brought him home. Ole Miss continued the frame with a walk by Kevin Graham followed by a single off the bat of Cockrell.

Memphis quickly responded to tie the game up at four runs apiece in the second. Rebel Southpaw Jordan Fowler allowed four runs on 5 hits and struck out four Tigers.

Junior Tyler Myers picked up the win over Memphis in three innings of work. He only allowed one hit while retiring three batters to strikeout.

Ole Miss hit an offensive streak in the fourth inning scoring three runs as Graham delivered a single to open the frame. Dillard then singled up the box to score Grae Kessinger and Anthony Servideo.

The Tigers scored their final two runs of the night on a triple off the bat off Colton Neel.

Ole Miss added two insurance runs on Cockrell’s second double of the night to bring in Olenek and Dillard.

Coach Mike Bianco then called on the arm off Parker Caracci to close the door on Memphis. The redshirt junior allowed two singles before he settled in to retire the next three batters to pick up his fifth save on the year.

The Rebels step back into conference action this weekend when they hit the road for a three-game series tilt against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday. First pitch is slated for 8 p.m. on ESPNU.
