Former Potts Camp Principal Named New OHS Head
The former principal of Potts Camp High School has been selected as the new Oxford High School as of July 1.
Noah Hamilton has served as principal of Resurrection Catholic School (K3-12) in Pascagoula since 2015. Prior to that, he was the principal of Potts Camp High School in Potts Camp from 2012-2015.
Current Principal Chandler Gray submitted his resignation last month but will remain principal until June 30; however, the reason for his resignation was not released by the school district.
Hamilton brings 16 years of teaching and coaching experience with endorsements in English, physical education, general science, and K-12 Administration. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Mississippi.
In his time at Resurrection Catholic School, Hamilton developed and implemented the “Collegiate Academy” in partnership with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. During his tenure at Potts Camp High School, their achievement ranking rose from a “D” school to a “B” school while also substantially increasing the graduation rate and scholarship awards for students.
“I am extremely honored and excited to be selected as the next principal at Oxford High School,” Hamilton said in a press release from the OSD. “Having worked for some great principals and superintendents during my career, I believe I am well prepared for the challenge before me. I look forward to working with an amazing faculty and staff to guide the students of OHS to be some of the nation’s best. The time is right to be a Charger.”
