Crime & Emergency Calls From March 21, 2019
The following reports were made March 21, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department issued 63 tickets, investigated six wrecks and the following reports:
1 abandoned vehicle
3 alarms
1 ambulance assist
1 animal complaint
1 disturbance
3 disturbing the peace complaints
1 K9 search
1 petty theft
1 resident burglary
2 suspicious activities
2 suspicious persons
1 vehicle search
3 welfare checks
Officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI and no insurance
1 DUI, one headlight, two warrants served, no driver’s license, no insurance, expired tag, failure to yield an emergency vehicle, careless driving, running a stop sign and improper parking
1 DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding
1 false pretense
2 shoplifting
1 suspended driver’s license, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 suspended driver’s license and tint violation
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following reports:
5 alarms
2 civil matters
1 fraud
1 information
5 service calls
1 suspicious activity
6 transports
1 trespassing
1 welfare concern
University Police Department investigated the following reports:
3 suspicious vehicles
1 ambulance needed
2 suspicious persons
2 intoxicated persons
1 disturbance
1 wreck
1 vandalism
Officers made the following arrests:
1 possession of alcohol beverage by person under 21
1 public drunk, possession of a fake ID, possession of beer by person under 21 and possession of beer by a person over 21 on county property
1 DUI of other substance and possession of drug paraphernalia
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
1:50 p.m. – Farley Hall – water flow alarm malfunction
3:30 p.m. – 88 La Rhonda Drive – public assist
7:54 p.m. – 2601 Walnut Hills – chest pains – monitored until EMS arrived
