The following reports were made March 15-17, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department issued 76 tickets, investigated 15 wrecks and the following reports:

1 code enforcement

3 disturbing the peace
2 domestic disturbances

Officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI, speeding, no driver’s license and no insurance
1 DUI, careless driving and driving while license suspended
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated three wrecks, made one arrest for burglary and investigated the following reports:

1 domestic violence
1 information
1 noise complaint
1 petty theft
2 reckless driving complaints
1 road obstruction
7 service calls
3 suspicious persons
2 suspicious vehicles

5 welfare concerns
Deputies deputies made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence with simple assault
1 domestic violence with aggravate assault
1 possession of meth warrant
2 for driving with suspended license
1 child support warrant
1 aggravated domestic violence
University Police Department investigated the following reports:
2 ambulance assists
1 intoxicated person
1 suspicious person
1 trespassing
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
3/15 – 1:32 p.m. – 2526A University Ave. – chest pains – monitored patient until EMS arrived
3/16 – 7:38 p.m. – 106 Hunters Court – trouble breathing – provided oxygen and monitored patient until EMS arrived from Potts Camp
3/16 – 8:01 p.m. – Chucky Mullins / Highway 6 area – strong smell of smoke call – nothing found
3/17 – 5:36 a.m. – Old Taylor Place Apts. No. 1 – resident thought the smoke detector activated because of a smell of smoke – no smoke just smoke detector malfunction
3/17 – 10:28 a.m. – 18 CR 3050 – behind The Marks – house fire was in the county
3/17 – 6:02 p.m. – 404 Cherokee Dr. – call canceled
3/17 – 6:35 p.m. – 447 Highway 6 West area – wreck with injury – provided first aid
3/17 – 9:09 11 p.m. – Canterbury Crest No. 105 – cooking activated a smoke detector
