The Ole Miss Rebels softball team took care of the Memphis Tigers 8-0 on Wednesday at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
Ole Miss got the offense going in the second inning as they plated seven runs on six hits sending 11 batters to the dish.
The Rebels hurler Ava Tillmann was spectacular in the circle by only allowing a single to the leadoff batter then only giving up a pair of walks in the rest of the outing.
Coach Mike Smith brought freshman Savannah Diederich in for the final inning. She did not allow any runs or hits with two strikeouts.
Sophomore Gabby Alvarez drove the final run home on a double in the sixth to secure the win for the Rebels.
The Tigers attempted to get on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth after loading the bases on three walks from Diederich who induced a ground ball to third for a fielder’s choice.
Ole Miss returns to action this weekend as they play host to No. 18 Oklahoma State and Samford.
