Rebels Snap Win Streak in South Carolina

The Ole Miss Rebels made a second-half rally last night but ultimately fell short of a win to South Carolina on the road, 79-64. Ole Miss (18-8, 8-5) had a four-game winning streak going into the game Tuesday night.
The Rebels came out on fire from the opening tip as they knocked down their first five shots and gained a 13-2 lead in the first four minutes of action.
South Carolina then took the lead by turning a defensive strategy into offensive on a 16-0 run. The Gamecocks took a 40-32 advantage going into the locker room.
Senior Terence Davis put up 18 points while junior Breein Tyree added 17 points in the loss.
Head Coach Kermit Davis’ squad fought back to tie the game 61-61 at the 6:18 mark but could not take the lead. South Carolina took over during the last few possessions to secure the win.
The Gamecocks were led by guard Chris Silva with 18 points.
Ole Miss hit 5-of-23 attempts from behind the arc and shot 37.1 percent from the field.
South Carolina out rebounded the Rebels 46-38.
Ole Miss returns to the court on Saturday as they host the Georgia Bulldogs. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.
