LOU Crime & Emergency Reports from Feb. 4, 2019
The following reports were made Feb. 4, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department made no arrests, issued 45 tickets, investigated 11 wrecks and the following reports:

2 ambulance assists
2 civil matters
1 credit card fraud
3 disturbing the peace complaints
1 domestic disturbance
2 harassment
1 improper parking
2 K9 searches
1 larceny
2 lost properties
1 motorist assist
1 simple assault
7 suspicious activities
2 suspicious people
1 suspicious vehicle
1 trespassing
1 vehicle search
2 welfare concerns
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made no arrests and investigated three wrecks and the following reports:
2 animal complaints
1 petit larceny
1 juvenile complaint
4 service calls
1 suspicious activity
2 welfare concerns
1 information
1 EMS assist
2 other Agency assists
1 natural cause death
Deputies made the following arrests:
1 DUI and leaving the scene of a wreck
1 possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle
University Police Department made no arrests, investigated one wreck and the following reports:
2 suspicious people
1 ambulance needed
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
12:15 p.m. – North Parking Garage UM – south elevator pit smoke detector malfunction
4:48 p.m. – Uncommon – call canceled
6:31 p.m. – ATO house – smoke detector malfunction
7:20 p.m. – Popeye’s Chicken area – a wreck with minor injuries – all refused treatment
7:50 p.m., 12:38 & 2:49 a.m. – South Oxford Campus (Old Baptist Hospital) – parking garage smoke detector malfunction
8:57 p.m. – 913 Molly Barr Road – EMS call for a diabetic patient – monitored until EMS arrived
12:14 & 12:23 p.m.- Sigma Nu house – a female pulled a fire alarm as a prank
