Learn About Historic Preservation Tax Credits, Legalities at Free Workshop
Join the Mississippi Heritage Trust and the New Orleans for a Preservation Toolkit Workshop this week to learn about the fundamental principles of historic preservation and real estate finance.
The workshop will be held Wednesday through Friday at the Burns-Belfry Museum and Multicultural Center at 710 E. Jackson Ave.
Participants will learn about the legal framework of historic preservation, master basic real estate calculations, and explore how incentives like tax credits can help close the funding gap and bring historic places back to life.
There is no admission fee for the workshops; however, registration is required.
The schedule of workshops:
Wednesday, 2-5 p.m.: The Legal Framework for Historic Preservation and the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation
Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Fundamentals of Real Estate Finance and Incentives to Close the Gap
Friday, 9 a.m. to noon: Tour of Tax Credit Projects
