Ole Miss Drops First Conference Game to LSU

The No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels basketball team suffered its first conference loss of the season to LSU 83-69 on Tuesday.
Ole Miss (13-3, 3-1) saw a ten game winning streak come to an end in a back and forth game with the Tigers.
Senior Terence Davis had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Breein Tyree added 12 points of his own.
The Rebels and Tigers went back and fourth on three pointers with only a slight difference in score throughout the night. Ole Miss’ biggest lead was a six point advantage and only a point for LSU.
At the half, Ole Miss and LSU went into the locker room tied at 31-31.
LSU remains undefeated in conference play at 3-0. The Tigers were led on the night by Tremont Waters (20 points, nine assists) and Kavell Bigby-Williams (14 points, 10 rebounds). The Tigers shot 47.4 percent from the floor (27 of 57) and beyond the arc (9 of 19), while recording 10 steals as part of forcing 16 Ole Miss turnovers.
The Rebels shot 40.6 percent from the field but struggled from beyond the arc going 8-for-28 and 9-for-17 at the charity stripe. Ole Miss went into the game leading the league in free throw percentage.
Ole Miss returns to action on Saturday as they host the Arkansas Razorbacks. Tip-off is set for noon.
